In my current role, I undertake RICS compliant valuations and conduct rent reviews of commercial property. I worked for Lloyds bank when I first left school, then took a change of direction and joined Telford & Wrekin Council as a trainee Valuer.
Once qualified, I moved to a property services agency in Birmingham as an estates surveyor and later worked for several private practice firms doing both residential and commercial valuations and surveying work. I had worked in the Potteries for more than 13 years before joining the valuation department of butters john bee.
I enjoy the challenges the job presents. I also enjoy the mix of being outdoors and being in the office, and the variety of buildings, both ancient and modern. I always try to help young property professionals with their career development, passing on the knowledge I have acquired over many years in the profession.
I look forward to the further expansion of butters john bee and in particular the valuation department. I also look forward with optimism to the challenges ahead in a constantly changing market place post-Brexit.
These are a few of my favourite things: my wife and two children, Manchester United, golf, bird watching, cycling, climbing hills/mountains, swimming in the sea, visiting National Trust sites and going to the gym.
