Hanley Area Guide

Living in Hanley

As the main commercial and shopping centre of Stoke-on-Trent, Hanley has undergone enormous regeneration and redevelopment over recent years and the area is now home to extensive leisure offerings as well as the theatres, museums and galleries of ‘The Cultural Quarter’.

Hanley therefore offers the best of both worlds to its residents - everything you would expect to find in a busy, vibrant metropolitan city, but with the added bonus of truly breathtaking Staffordshire countryside on your doorstep.

Cultural Pursuits

Travel back in time at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, home to the world’s greatest collection of Staffordshire ceramics, a World War II Spitfire, superb works of art (including pieces by Picasso, Durer and Degas) and natural history packaged up in a gorgeous secret garden. The Potteries development also includes a nine-screen multiplex cinema as well as seven restaurants, and the town has several theatre venues.
